Dr. Lauvao is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He specializes in open vascular surgery and endovascular surgery.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery and is on staff at multiple hospitals and medical centers in the Valley including Banner Health, Abrazo Health and Honor Health. Dr. Lauvao has an interest in surgical education and has presented in local and international meetings.

He has served on many local committees including Chair of the Endovascular Committee at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. He was awarded Physician of Excellence from Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and was nominated as Most Compassion Doctor from Vitals Patient Choice Award. Dr. Lauvao was also listed in Phoenix Magazine Best Doctors. Dr. Lauvao is fluent in his native Samoan language. He has been practicing in Phoenix Valley for more than 10 years.

Dr. Lauvao specializes in carotid disease and aneurysmal disease, including thoracic and abdominal aorta aneurysms, peripheral aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, venous disease, including deep vein thrombosis, IVC filter placement and removal, varicose veins and venous reflux, dialysis access and management, including, fistulas, grafts and HeRO access. His interests also include wound care, lymphedema and limb salvage, and limb preservation operations. Dr. Lauvao also specializes in vascular trauma.
