Biography
Randy Cooper, MD, FASDIN is a board-certified clinical and interventional nephrologist. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine; completed his residency in internal medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas; and completed fellowship training in nephrology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN) in percutaneous advanced hemodialysis access procedures including percutaneous AVF creation. Prior to relocating to Arizona, Dr. Cooper served in the United States Air Force as a physician. He was Honorably discharged after 8 years of service at the rank of Major.
Dr. Cooper founded the SKI Vascular Center interventional program in 2004 and was instrumental in transitioning the program from a hospital-based model to multiple outpatient facilities, improving patient experience and satisfaction. During his career, he has served many leadership roles within Southwest Kidney Institute and SKI Vascular Center. Dr. Cooper has presented at several national medical meetings and has published research in peer-reviewed journals.
