Biography

Usama Elewa, MD, MSc, PhD, is a board-certified physician. He earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Egypt; completed his postgraduate medical education at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri; and obtained his International PhD in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid in Spain.

Dr. Elewa has more than 15 years of clinical experience in Nephrology. He provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, including acute and chronic kidney disease, glomerular disorders, diabetic kidney disease, polycystic kidney disease, and hypertension.

At SKI Vascular Center in Phoenix, he focuses on interventional nephrology and provides a range of advanced hemodialysis access procedures, including tunneled dialysis catheter placement and dialysis access repair procedures such as angioplasty, thrombectomy, and stent placement.

Dr. Elewa is fluent in Arabic and Spanish. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation, and Renal Physicians Association. He has contributed extensively to clinical and academic nephrology through high-impact research and publications and currently serves on the editorial boards of several international medical journals.
